Anybody who follows the Swindon Town Swoodilypoopers is familiar with the Greens success on the pitch. They have taken a team that while decent in league one play was not in any danger of ever going higher to what appears to be the top of the Championship league competition and we hope beyond.
What few had known until yesterdays obliteration of Sheffield Wednesday was that the Greens have been married for nearly two years. Since there has been some confusion about the exact amount of time the Gazette went and pulled the marriage license and discovered they have been married for approximately one year and eight months.
According to O Green he was married when he signed to Swindon Town to a woman whom he has chosen not to name. He only said that she was a lovely women of whom he at one time was madly in love with but over time they grew apart.
O Green played football and lived in Swindon Town for two years prior to signing with the Swoodilypoopers. It was right before his first season with the Swoodilypoopers that his divorce was finalized and he moved in with another Swindon Town transfer B Green as a matter of convenience since B Green was new to town and needed a flatmate.
Shortly after the start of the season a chemistry began between the two Greens (at that time Other John Green was known as John Bennett). O Green knew right away why his marriage had fallen apart and was happier than he had ever been. Then it was only a short time after that when B Green made the first move towards a relationship with O Green. At first they kept it from the team not knowing what they would think about it but it wasn’t long before the team got wise and their relationship came out of the bag and they were married about a third of the way into their first season.
Out of respect for the Greens Coach J. Brothers (as he likes to be called) kept everything quiet for as long as he could. Not that anybody was ashamed or upset but because both Greens are fairly private people and they just didn’t think their marriage pertained to the team really in any way. After the start of the second season people started to ask questions and after B Green’s injury it was obvious it could be private no longer. They announced to the world of Swoodilypoopers their marriage and just like in everything else Swindon Town pride swelled and the announcement only bolstered the Green Team in their eyes.
